The July Charter must be implemented without any distortion – Golam Parwar

Staff Correspondent: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar has called on all levels of the Islamic movement to play an uncompromising role in the field to turn the capital Dhaka into an invincible fortress of the Islamic movement.

He made these remarks while addressing the Majlish-e-Shura session of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan North at the City Auditorium in Baridhara on Wednesday, April 15. The session, chaired by Central Executive Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan North Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin and moderated by Central Executive Council member and Metropolitan Secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, was attended by Central Working Committee member and Dhaka Metropolitan North Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Nayeb-e-Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North Engineer Golam Mustafa, Central Working Committee member and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Mahfuzur Rahman, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Assistant Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Nazim Uddin Molla, Dr. Fakhruddin Manik and Yasin Arafat, etc.

He said, the government has started delaying the implementation of the July Charter. They campaigned for signing the July Charter and a ‘yes’ vote in the referendum, but after coming to power, they forgot everything. Although they initially called the referendum illegal, they have now accepted its validity. Therefore, there is no chance for the government to ignore the July Charter. He called on the government to move away from its suicidal stance and immediately convene a meeting of the Constitutional Reform Council and take effective steps to implement the July Charter without any distortion.

In his speech as the president, Mohammad Selim Uddin said, politics has no purpose for worldly gain, rather our real purpose is the welfare of humanity in this world and liberation in the hereafter. In fact, we believe in the politics of sacrifice and welfare, not of enjoyment. We are determined to establish a society where the rights of all people are guaranteed. Through this work, we want to please the Almighty Allah and be rewarded with the great reward of Paradise.
