Israel Aggression in front of everyone’s eyes: A. Al Mamun

RU Correspondent:

A. Al Mamun, a professor in the Mass Communication and Journalism department at Rajshahi University (RU), has expressed concerns over Israeli settlements and the mistreatment of Palestinians by settler Jews, labeling it as racism. Mamun highlighted the immediate lethal response Palestinians face when protesting and the constant fear they live with daily. He condemned the ongoing aggression and termed it a form of genocide supported by the United States and Israel.

Speaking at a protest rally organized by teachers and students, Mamun noted the global spread of solidarity movements against Israel’s actions, particularly in American universities. He emphasized demands to halt unjust Israeli aggression, cease funding arms factories through American universities, and end arms supply to the US.

Mamun criticized the labeling of critics as ‘anti-Semitic,’ citing recent laws in the US targeting those speaking against Israel. He mentioned Hamas’ attack on Israel, leading to severe reprisals in Gaza, resulting in numerous Palestinian casualties, including journalists. The dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with food and medical shortages, was underscored as a consequence of Israeli policies.

The event also saw participation from other faculty members like Associate Professor Kazi Mamun Haider Rana and Amirul Islam Kanak, along with student leaders advocating for Palestinian rights.
