English Times Desk: Mahfuz Alam, the advisor attached to the office of the chief advisor, highlighted the tasks that the interim government will now do on a priority basis.
On Monday (January 6) evening, Mahfuz Alam announced the list of these priority tasks with a status on his verified Facebook ID. They are-
On behalf of the government:
- Preparation of the list of martyrs-wounded in the July uprising, providing treatment. Financial assistance and long-term rehabilitation of injured and martyred family members.
- July Genocide trial and for that purpose conducting proper case and proper investigation process.
- Trial of last 16 years of disappearances, murders and economic looting. Return of looted money.
- Ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property and keeping the price of goods affordable.
- Ensuring realistic reforms of various institutions of the state on the basis of national consensus.
- All important public sectors including education, public health, information technology and housing are arranged.
- Ensuring equal opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship for the younger generation. Increasing state incentives.
- Instead of the so-called ‘development economy’, adopting economic programs favorable to people, life, nature and the environment.
- To ensure transparency, accountability and public service in all activities of the government.

Political priorities:

Uniting the forces of the coup for the abolition of the fascist system and a new political order.

Upholding the national interest in all areas and giving importance to the people and life of Bangladesh, nature and environment, beyond the interests of big corporations and foreign interests.

Maintaining consensus with political parties on national priorities i.e. national security, stability and foreign relations and harnessing people’s power to prevent the return of fascist regimes and murderers.T

To unite the people in favor of reform and to leave the process of transfer of power, namely the electoral system, to the judgment of the people subject to reform.

People from all over the country; Educating and making the young generation especially politically (regarding responsibilities and rights) aware.
