ET Desk: Bangladesh Rural Journalists’ Association (BRJA) has expressed deep shock at the death of Syed Masud, Fatikchhari Correspondent of Daily Naya Diganta.

In a joint condolence messages today, BRJA Chairman Sakhawat Hossain Chowdhury and its secretary general Sheikh Mohammad Tajul Islam, termed Syed Masud as a honest and knowledge seeking person.
They also prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Syed Masud, also president of Fatikchhari Press Club, died of aliments at Chattogram National Hospital on July 30.
In another statement, the BRJA leaders condemned attacks on journalists at Muradnagar in Cumilla during a clash between the supporters of former MP Kaikobad and advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan on Wednesday.
Journalists came under the attacks while performing their professional duties. The attacks were carried out in a bid to kill them. We condemned the attacks, they said.
The BRJA leaders demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of attackers.
