If the unity of the youth of the July Revolution is shattered, the nation will become weak: Prof Rob

ET Desk: In the July Revolution, the youth united the entire nation and snatched victory. If this unity is broken, the revolution will fail and the nation will become weak.

Therefore, there is no alternative to national unity instead of division in building a strong nation — commented Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rab, Vice Chancellor of Manarat International University.

He made this statement as the keynote speaker at a seminar titled ‘Youth Uprising: Challenges and Role of Youth in Building a New Bangladesh’ organized by Youth Development Organization-Dhaka on the occasion of International Youth Day.

Renowned educationists, researchers, and international environmental scientists from the country also chaired the seminar.

‘Referring to the ‘July Revolution as a victory of youth’, Professor Dr. Abdur Rab further said that victory has been achieved under the leadership of youth. The majority of those martyred and injured and disabled in this revolution are youth and teenagers. It is the youth who have shown the nation the courage to rise up against injustice.

The seminar was held on Thursday (August 14) afternoon at the auditorium of the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh in the capital.

The chief guest of the seminar was Daily Amar Desh Editor Dr. Mahmudur Rahman. He said, “It is the failure of the elders to build a country free from exploitation and discrimination even after 54 years of independence.”

He complained and said, There is a deep conspiracy going on to question the July Revolution, and for this, attempts are being made to question the July fighters as well. Urging the youth to be vigilant, he said that conspirators are trying to trap them in various traps, so they should stay away from greed and lust.

Former Additional Secretary Khandaker Rashedul Haque, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Committee member and Nayeb-e-Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan South Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Brigadier General (Retd.)
