Brahmanbaria Correspondent: Mother -in-law Rasmoni Bhowmik and a Rasraj Sarkar organized a press conference against the son-in-law Rakesh Chandra Sarkar on Monday morning at Sarail Upazila Press Club of Brahmanbaria. Mother-in-law Rasmoni Bhowmik is the wife of deceased Pandav Bhowmik of Shahjadapur Barabari of Sarail Upazila. Rasraj Sarkar is the elder son-in-law of Rasmoni Bhowmik. The son-in-law is hailed of Dauria village of Shahjahapur union. Rasmani Bhowmik’s grand son-in-law Rakesh Chandra Sarkar is the son of deceased Amrit Lal Sarkar of Kairpur village in Nasirnagar Upazila and is a member of Brahmanbaria District Lawyers Association. Reading the written statement in the press conference, Rasraj Sarkar said, advocate Rakesh Chandra Sarkar married Mukul Rani Sarkar, daughter of Harlal, son of deceased Pandava Bhowmik of Shahjadapur Barabari. Rasmoni Bhowmik is my mother-in-law. After the death of his son Bhuvan Ranjan Bhowmik, mother Rasmani Bhowmik became the owner of his son’s property through inheritance. This property has been given to me by my mother-in-law through an affidavit through the power of attorney. After that advocate Rakesh Chandra Sarkar started oppressing my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law filed a case in this regard. In this advocate Rakesh Chandra Sarkar got angry and filed an extortion case in the court to punish me and my wife and sons. Which is completely false and contrived. And on the scheduled date of this case (2nd March 2023) advocate Rakesh Chandra Sarkar found me on the ground floor of the Bar Association Building, grabbed me and started hitting me on the head, punched and kicked me down and hurt and humiliated me. The Bar Association informed about the incident. I have given a written complaint to the secretary and the deputy commissioner. My mother-in-law along with my whole family is worried about the incident. Rasmoni Bhowmik said in the press conference, I was beaten and thrown out of the house. Now I am at my daughter’s house. In this regard, advocate Rakesh Chandra Sarkar’s mobile phone has been called several times but he is not picking up the phone.
