BRJA Extends Heartfelt Congratulations on the Homecoming of ‘Deshnayak’ Tarique Rahman
The Bangladesh Rural Journalists Association (BRJA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations and warm greetings on the occasion of the homecoming of ‘Deshnayak’ Tarique Rahman, marking the end of his 17-year exile.
In a joint congratulatory message issued on Saturday, December 27, BRJA Chairman Mahammad Sakhawat Hossain Ibn Moin Chowdhury and Secretary General Sheikh Mohammad Tajul Islam stated, “After 17 long years, 17,000 rural journalists across the country are charmed, overwhelmed, and inspired by hearing the spirited and visionary speech of our beloved leader. His return marks a new milestone in the struggle to restore Bangladesh’s lost democracy and build a prosperous nation.”
The leaders further acknowledged the long struggle, boundless sacrifices, and uncompromising fight of the ‘Mother of Democracy’ Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia for the rights of the people of Bangladesh. They noted, “Following the path of her fearless leadership, Deshnayak Tarique Rahman has returned to the people today. We firmly believe that at this critical juncture for the nation, Bangladesh will once again stand tall under the capable leadership of Tarique Rahman.”
The BRJA leaders prayed for the recovery of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia and wished for the good health and longevity of Tarique Rahman. They also expressed hope that, in the days to come, he would continue to play a strong role in safeguarding media freedom and protecting journalists’ rights by forming a government through a democratic process.
