Ekushey Padak Recipient Poet Al Mujahidi Passes Away

Eminent poet, Freedom Fighter, distinguished journalist, and member of the National Press Club and Dhaka Union of Journalists, Poet Al Mujahidi, has passed away (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un).
He breathed his last on Friday (June 19) shortly before Jumu’ah prayers while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital. He leaves behind numerous admirers, colleagues, well-wishers, and family members.
Throughout his long and illustrious career, Al Mujahidi made significant contributions to literature, journalism, and the promotion of the spirit of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to literature and national life, he was awarded the prestigious Ekushey Padak, one of the country’s highest civilian honors.
His death has cast a deep shadow of grief across journalistic, literary, and cultural circles. Many individuals and organizations have expressed their condolences, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
