Staff Correspondent: Barrister Md. Abdus Salam, Chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, paid a courtesy call on Ms. Seval Guzelkilinc—the newly appointed Head of Delegation for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Bangladesh—on Thursday, September 3, and welcomed her to her new role.
During the meeting, discussions were held on further strengthening the long-standing partnership between BDRCS and IFRC, enhancing mutual cooperation, and improving coordination in humanitarian activities. Deliberations also covered the upcoming BDRCS Managing Board election, institutional capacity building, and opportunities to further enhance the Society’s operations and humanitarian response capabilities. The BDRCS Chairman expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation and support of the IFRC.
He highlighted the importance of strong coordination and partnerships in implementing the Society’s humanitarian mandate. BDRCS Secretary General Md. Habibur Rahman Khan, Deputy Secretary General Md. Ehsan-e-Elahi, and IFRC Program Coordinator Sonakshi Dey were present at the meeting. Both parties pledged to deliver effective, accountable, and sustainable humanitarian assistance to those in need by further strengthening cooperation and exploring new opportunities in the future.
