Amena Khatun, mother of Deputy Chief Reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) M Sajjad Hossain, died of old-age complications at Square Hospital in the city today.
She was 103, family sources said.Amena Khatun, wife of deceased Valiant Freedom Fighter Bazlu Mia, breathed her last at 10.30am.Amena Khatun is survived by two sons, grandchildren and a host of relatives and admirers.After Magrib prayers, she will be buried at the family graveyard in her village home following a namaz-e-janaza at Shankuchail Uttarpara Jame Mosque of Burichong upazila under Cumilla district.Noted personalities including ruling Awami League lawmakers AKM Bahauddin Bahar and Abul Hashem Khan, Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) president Mursalin Nomani and Amra Muktijoddahr Santan central committee general secretary Rasheduzzaman expressed deep shock at the death of Amena Khatun.They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
