Unite to build Bangabandhu’s prosperous country: Asaduzzaman Noor

Former Cultural Affairs Minister and eminent cultural personality Asaduzzaman Noor has said everyone should unite to accomplish Bangabandhu’s dream of building a prosperous country.“We must unite to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh as dreamed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Everyone has to work together to take the country forward,” he said.Noor said this while addressing a discussion arranged in celebration of the ‘Basanta Utsab’ (Spring Festival) by Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) here as the chief guest on Thursday afternoon.Wishing everyone best wishes of the spring, Noor said the universal festivals of the Banglee should be held regularly in the university to build a non-communal Bangladesh in the spirit of the Great War of Liberation.He expressed optimism that Begum Rokeya University will become the best university in the country with the combined efforts of all stakeholders.Presided over by Vice-chancellor of the university professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid, its Pro Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Sarifa Salowa Dina and Treasurer Professor Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahamed participated in the discussion.Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammad Wadudur Rahman, Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences Md. Shariful Islam, Convener of Begum Rokeya University Basanta Utsab-2023 Organizing Committee Professor Dr. Nitai Kumar Ghosh, also spoke.Earlier in the afternoon, Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid welcomed Asaduzzaman Noor MP with wreaths on his arrival in the campus.Noor paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the campus and inaugurated the colorful spring festival of the university by releasing balloons and white doves as symbols of peace.
Later, legendary actor Asaduzzaman Noor was awarded by the university and given a hat by the Vice-chancellor.
After the discussion, the invited guests enjoyed a cultural program jointly moderated by Assistant Professors of the university Md Ashanuzzaman and Kuntola Chowdhury.
