The practice of honking should be abandoned wherever there is: Environment Minister

Staff correspondent :

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin said that the habit of playing the horn should be abandoned.
He said, to increase awareness to prevent noise pollution, we will observe a minute of silence in the capital on October 15 at 10 am to keep noise pollution free. Dhaka will be noise free for one minute.
He said these things in the chief guest’s speech at the exchange and award ceremony after the inauguration of the extension of Moulvibazar District Scout Building today.
Shahab Uddin also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we all have to make the country free from noise pollution to build a smart Bangladesh. That’s why everyone should be aware.
He said, ‘We do not pollute when we go abroad or to cantonment areas. When we go outside the cantonment we blow the horn again. You have to get out of this situation. Scouts can work in this case. A smart country requires a smart government and smart citizens. Scout is leading the way in creating smart citizens.’
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Urmi Binte Salam, Moulvibazar District Awami League President Neshar Ahmad, Chief National Scouts Commissioner Dr. Mozammel Haque, Moulvibazar Zilla Parishad Chairman and District Awami League General Secretary Michbahur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Manjur Rahman and Moulvibazar Municipality Mayor Fazlur Rahman etc.
