Artwork exhibition of artist Saidur Rahman held in the United States

Staff Correspondent: Artist Saidur Rahman visited the United States on 24 May 2023 at the invitation of Zervas Art Organization, Greece. To participate in the 6-day International Art Symposium while 25 artists from 15 countries participated in it. It is organized by Zervas Art Organization, Greece.

After that, he participated in a 1-day art camp on July 8 in Schoharie, New York, organized by the Bangladeshi Artists Forum, sponsored by artists Salma Kaniz and Satil Sinha. The artist participated in a group exhibition at the Jamaica Art Center Gallery in New York, USA.

The exhibition is organized by Bangladeshi American Artists Art Forum, New York. 44 artists participated in the exhibition. The exhibition runs from 6 to 12 September 2023. Artist Saidur Rahman was born in 1973 in Mymensingh. He grew up in Armanitola in Dhaka.

He completed Bachelor in Fine Art and Masters in Fine Art from Dhaka University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 1997, he was awarded the (Monbusho) Japan Government Full Bright Scholarship to study Visual Art and Art Education at Mie National University, Japan.

He graduated from Mie National University in 1999. He joined the Narayanganj Art Institute as a lecturer in 2003 and served till 2008. Apart from this, he served as an art teacher at Bangladesh School Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman from 2015 to 2021.

He won many national and international awards for his excellence in art. He won the international award ‘Ultimate Gold Award’ for his paintings in an international art competition organized by Qatar in 2021. In 2006, he received a special award at the Art Competition and Exhibition of Young Artists organized by Bangladesh Artists Welfare Association, Dhaka.

In 1993, artist won the Shafiqul Amin Smriti Prize for his watercolor paintings at the annual art competition and exhibition of the Institute of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka. He won second prize in 1987 and first prize in 1988 in watercolor painting competition organized by Bangladesh Islamic Foundation, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Democratic Bangladesh.

The artist tries to draw from the elegance of life around him. He constantly tries to see and understand the world and its inhabitants and the nature of the time, the moments he passes through. He observes people, their behavior, interactions with each other, their ambitions, aspirations, dilemmas, their thoughts, which makes him thoughtful and tries to capture that in his art.
