ET Desk: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today expressed
deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ayesha Mahtab, mother of Professor Dr
Mamun Al Mahtab (Shawpnil), head of Interventional Hepatology division of
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
In a condolence message, the foreign minister prayed for eternal peace of the
departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Ayesha Mahtab died at her own residence at Banani here on Thursday afternoon
at the age of 77.
She left behind a daughter, a son and a host of relatives and well wishers to
mourn her death.
Her namaj-e-Janaza was held at the adjacent mosque of Banani graveyard after
Esha prayers on Thursday
