Local Government Minister, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam yesterday called for bring women into the mainstream of the society.”The more the participation of women in the mainstream society increases, the more we will be able to move forward as a nation,” he told a meeting with women entrepreneurs at his residence in Mohanganj upazila in Cumilla, a ministry press release said.Speaking as the chief guest, Tajul said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has taken various steps to improve the status of women and that is why women are no longer left behind.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, today women are working in all spears of the society, and even they are becoming deputy commissioners, police superintendent and justices.Tajul said the prime minister’s contribution to women empowerment will remain inscribed with golden letters in the history.
