Rajshahi University (RU) and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) held a friendly football match at Rajshahi University Stadium organized by Rajshahi University (RU) Physical Education Department on Tuesday (September 17).

The chief guest of the event, the Sports advisor said sports matter goes with my portfolio. We have youths in this government as well as elders. But the elders are not behind the youth in any way. The chief advisor is a world-class personality, he is not a sports personality but he influences the field of sports. He inaugurated the Olympics twice in a row. He tells us that the power of this game is to create excitement in us.

”We got two big national achievements after the coup. We won a Test series with Pakistan. And became the champion in SAF under-20. It is lucky for us. Because we didn’t get a chance to work more. But I will continue to work for the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its continuity” he also said.

Rajshahi University won by 2-0 in this friendly football match between two universities of 50 minutes. In the first half of the game, Rajshahi University found the net twice in Daput play but was caught offside. Ruet counterattacked a couple of times.

However, in the second half, Rajshahi University was able to send the ball into the opponent Ruet’s goalpost, even though it was goalless for a while. Within minutes of the first goal, Rabi was again caught offside as he sent the ball over the bar for the third time. However, Rajshahi University also scored a second goal within a few moments.

During the prize distribution after the game, Rajshahi University Vice-Chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan Naqeeb said, I witnessed an enjoyable match between two neighboring institutions. Congratulations to the winning team. Thank you all so much for coming to watch this friendly match.
