News Desk: Appellate Division Justice Obaidul Hasan has been appointed as the 24th Chief Justice of the country. This information was informed in a notification on Tuesday (September 12). According to the order of the President, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs signed the notification. Golam Sarwar. The notification also informed that his appointment will be effective after taking oath.
Earlier yesterday, Justice Obaidul Hasan was assigned as the Acting Chief Justice for eight days from September 11 to September 18 as the current Justice Hasan Faiz Siddiqui was out of the country. Obaidul Hasan, senior judge of the Appellate Division, was enrolled as a lawyer in the District Court in 1986, the High Court Division in 1988 and the Appellate Division in 2005. On 30 June 2009, he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division and on 6 June 2011 as a Permanent Judge.
