Staff Correspondent: Ibrahim Chowdhury, the main accused in the rod-laden truck theft case, has been arrested by Gacha police station, Gazipur. According to the police, there are several cases pending against him including car-theft and rod-theft in various police stations of Tongi and Gazipur.
Yunus filed a case at Gacha police station as a plaintiff regarding the matter. The case No-18, Date-12/06/2023 under section-406/407/420/34 of Penal Code. Today, on Thursday, the accused Ibrahim Chodhuri was sent to court by Gacha police and he gave a confessional statement in Gazipur Chief Magistrate Court about committing his crime.
According to the police, the arrested accused, Ibrahim, a professional thief, said in the details of the case that Anwar Ispat’s truck loaded with thirteen tons of rods was going from Gazipur to Bhuapur in Tangail, but he drove the truck loaded with rods to Faridpur. After that, the police recovered the truck loaded with rods from Bhanga upazila of Faridpur. Sakhawat Hossain the investigating officer of the case confirmed the matter to media.
