ET Desk: Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury today said ideal educational institutions like Notre Dame College can play an important role in building a smart Bangladesh as per the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said smart society is needed to build smart Bangladesh, while smart citizens are required to build a smart society and good educational institutions can make smart citizens.
The environment minister made the remarks while speaking at a function organised here on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of Notre Dame College.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said ideal educational institutions like Notre Dame College create the leadership of the society and the country.
“We have to work for the economic liberation of the people of our country. Everyone should work together to build a developed prosperous non-communal welfare state dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.
Saber Hossain said Notre Dame College, as a traditional institution, has been playing an important role in the field of education and culture for 75 years.
He said as a developing country, Bangladesh needs skilled and educated manpower to face future challenges and Notre Dame College is playing an important role in creating such skilled and educated manpower.
The minister assured the authorities of supports from the government for the overall development of Notre Dame College.
