RU Correspondent: Rajshahi University (RU) Central Cultural Alliance celebrated the birthday of fiction writer Hasan Azizul Haque. Wreaths were laid at the Fictionist tomb to mark the day on Friday.

Meanwhile, Amit Kumar Dutt President of the Cultural Association, said that fiction writer Hasan Azizul Haque was the pride of the university. His contribution to the cultural arena of the campus is memorable. The guidance of this man imbued with a non-sectarian spirit, will forever be a path for the nation along with the cultural arena.

At that time, the cultural activitists of the alliance organizations along with the general secretary of the alliance Al Amin were present.

In addition, Hasan Azizul Haque was born on February 2, 1939. He was a professor in the philosophy department of Rajshahi University. However, he is recognized as one of the main fiction writers of the Bengali language. The non-communal spirit and the common man’s life struggle are the source of his literature. This fiction writer, who appeared in the sixties, has been awarded various medals at home and abroad, including the Ekushey Medal and the Freedom Medal. One of his literary works is the novel ‘Agunpakhi’. He received the title of “Literary gem” in recognition of his lifelong literary practice.
