RU Correspondent: A delegation from Iran’s Al-Mustafa International University visited Rajshahi University (RU) on Sunday, according to a press release.

The delegation consisted of Professor Ali Abbasi, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Mortaza Mohammad Alinejad Shani, the Iranian Director General of Education. Also, Professor Mashaekhi Raad, the Country Director assigned to Bangladesh, had a courtesy meeting and exchange of views with Vice-Chancellor Professor Gholam Sabbir Sattar.

During this time, they discussed cooperation with Rajshahi University Al Mostafa International University and other universities and research institutes in Iran regarding Rabi’s higher education and research.

During the discussion, the Iranian delegation said that they could play a role in creating mutual communication with Iranian universities and higher research institutions.

They also said that apart from arts and humanities, they have special interests in engineering and medical sciences. Incidentally, they said that in technology research, especially aerospace, nanotechnology, biotechnology, satellite technology, and related fields, Iran’s position is among the top ten in the world. So both countries can benefit from cooperation.

The vice-chancellor thanked the Iranian delegation for the visit. He lays special emphasis on the formulation and implementation of integrated plans with a special interest in nanotechnology biotechnology and related fields. Vice-Chancellor asked the Office of International Affairs and the Department of Persian Language and Literature to take necessary measures for that purpose. The delegation also expressed interest in the development of Barendra Research Museum while expecting Iranian cooperation.

The delegation invited the Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi University to visit Al-Mustafa University and said that the Vice-Chancellor would visit it in due course. During this visit, it was decided that a memorandum of understanding would be signed between Rajshahi University and Al-Mustafa University.

They later exchanged souvenirs of the visit.

During the discussion, among others, the Director of the Office of International Affairs Prof. Md. Azizur Rahman, the president of the Persian Language and Literature Department Prof. Shafiullah along with the teachers of the department, the administrator of the public relations department, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Pandey and others were present.

In Addition, The delegation also visited the Rajshahi University Office of International Affairs and the Persian Language and Literature Department.
