Islamic University EEE Dept Gets New Alumni Committee

The new committee of Islamic University’s Department of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) Alumni Association has been formed with Prof. Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir (academic session 1995-96) and Saifuddin Khan Chowdhury (academic session 1997-98) as president and general secretary respectively.

Professor Dr K M Abdus Shobhan, Chief Election Commissioner, announced in a press release that the committee would retrospectively be effective from the 9th March of 2024. Md. Abdur Razzaque, the academic year 1995-96 of this department, has been selected as the treasurer of the Committee.

Consisting of other selected members are as a Vice-President namely including Sheikh Md. Rafiqul Islam (1995-1996), Md. Mocaddes Hanif Tolin (1996-1997) and Prof. Dr. Mst. Janntul Ferdous (1998-1999). As a Joint Secretary Md. Golam Shahinoor Rahman (1999-2000) and Prof. Dr. Md. Khalid Hossain Jewel (2000-2001).
As a Research and Excellence member Dr. Md. Khalid Hossain (2004-2005).

In addition, Mohammad Abdus Salam, Roksana Parvin Shimul, Md. Shah Alam, Asif Mohammad Ashique, Md. Shafiqur Rahman, A.K.M. Najmul Hoque, Md. Ashraful Islam Torit, Md. Abu Hanif, Salman Ahmed,Tamosree Saha, Abu Jar Giffari and Humaira Ahmed Brishty are elected as executive members of the committee.

Saifuddin Khan, the Secretary of the association, expressed that It’s totally for current students who would be worked out how to get into a good position in job sectors. To provide advice and cooperation in various departmental activities.

The president of the association, Professor Dr. M. Humayun Kabir, said, After 28 years, we have formed an alumni association. Along with the era, the department’s name has been changed three times resulting in inconvenience, so we will try to coordinate with the department. We, Alumni Association, will also try to get the approval of the Engineering Institute as an Engineering Department.
