Local Buddhists minorities of Barua Para seeking PM’s intervention to get back their century-old road

Staff Correspondent : The land grabbers took over the vacant land next to the 200-year-old road used by minority Buddhists. Expatriate Lokman Hossain has built a shop by blocking the only road used by minority Buddhists for almost 200 years in Kankir Hat Barua neighborhood of Senbagh, Noakhali. The road has been closed for a long time. But some terrorists led by Lokman Hussain, ignoring the instructions of the local administration, beat and injured the minority Baruas in the dark of night and blocked the road by taking the women hostage. Calling 999 did not resolve the issue. The police claim that the road will be closed. To open the road, the order of the higher authority is required. Later, the local Buddhists complained to UNO, DC but no action was taken to open the road. 35 families of Barua village, school students and women of the village are facing extreme hardships. They have to walk around 2 km of roads through people’s gardens and yards.
