ET Desk: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested former expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment minister Imran Ahmad from the city’s Banani area last midnight.
Confirming his arrest, police today issued a short statement without mentioning further details.
However, an official familiar to the process said that Imran Ahmad, also former lawmaker of Sylhet-4 constituency, was accused of a number of cases filed after ousted of the Awami League government and would be produced before the court today.
Earlier on September 3 last, a case was filed again him and 102 others with Paltan Police Station on charges of embezzlement and human trafficking.
