Jamaat will give the gift of a corruption-free state if it comes to power: Selim Uddin

ET Desk: Mohammad Selim Uddin, a member of the Central Executive Council of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan North, And Sylhet-6 (Golapganj-Beanibazar) parliamentary candidate commented that if Jamaat-e-Islami can come to power, it will give the gift of a corruption-free state.

He made this statement while speaking as the chief guest at an iftar mahfil organized by the Golapganj-Bianibazar Development Forum in honor of journalists from various media outlets working in Sylhet on his initiative at an elite restaurant in Sylhet on Wednesday (March 19).

At that time, he said, “To establish justice, corruption must be eradicated from society. Corruption cannot be eradicated without running society on the basis of piety.” Jamaat-e-Islami is trying to run the party on the basis of piety.

Therefore, no one could prove any corruption of Jamaat leaders when they were ministers. If Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power in the future, it will give the gift of a corruption-free state. He sought the cooperation of journalists for this.

He said that in order to make the July Revolution a success, a party that is morally sound and capable of managing state power must be brought to power in the coming days.

Under the chairmanship of Hafiz Nazmul Islam, former chairman of Golapganj Upazila Parishad and secretary of Golapganj-Bianibazar Development Forum, and jointly moderated by Rehan Uddin Raihan, former chairman of Badepasha Union Parishad, and Maulana Faizul Islam, Amir of Beanibazar Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami.

At this time, Selim Uddin highlighted the golden past of Sylhet politics and said, “At one time, Sylhet people played a glorious role in national politics. Many of them were national leaders. If leadership does not reach the national level, there is no opportunity to do much for the area. Currently, there is a great lack of Sylhet leaders who lead at the national level.”

In this regard, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami mentioned Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, a prominent son of Sylhet, former central president of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Jamaat’s central assistant secretary general Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair. He said that Sylhet leadership is playing a central role in Jamaat-e-Islami. This allows Sylhet to be talked about at the national level through them.

that time, he also called on other parties to develop leadership at the national level. He said, whichever party has the national leadership, it should be considered an asset to the area.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Sylhet District Amir Maulana Habibur Rahman and Sylhet Metropolitan Amir and Central Executive Committee member Muhammad Fakhrul Islam spoke as special guests at the Iftar Mahfil.
