BNP-Jamaat wants Bangladesh to be a sanctuary for terrorism: Kazi Nabil

ET Desk: Member of Parliament (MP) from Jessore-3 constituency Kazi Nabil Ahmed on Wednesday said that the Awami League must be brought to power through the January 7 election if one wants to see the continuation of the country’s progress.

Addressing a street rally, the ruling party candidate also said the countrymen do not want Bangladesh to become the champion of corruption once again.

The MP held street rallies and distributed leaflets in several locations of Ichhali Union Parishad of Jessore, including Shuro, Kutubpur, Ramakrishnapur, Gaoghra, Rajapur Mor, and Hashimpur Bazar. Ichhali Union Parishad Awami League President Tofazzal Hossain presided over these rallies.

Kazi Nabil said the BNP-Jamaat wants Bangladesh to be a sanctuary for terrorism. During the BNP-Jamaat regime from 2001-2006, Bangladesh had become a country of serial bomb attacks. At that time, Bangla Bhai emerged in the country, militancy arose, grenade attacks took place, and judges were killed across the country.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina brought back peace in the country, and now it has become a role model for development, the MP said, asking people to vote for Boat if they want a developed, peaceful, and prosperous Bangladesh.

“Every leader and activist in the Awami League has to work a little more in the next few days. Voters should be encouraged to go to the polling booths. No voter should be left out. It is very important to take all the voters in the area to the polling booths on January 7 and encourage them to cast their votes.

“Remember that this election is not an election to elect your Union Parishad or Upazila chairman. It is an election to form the government. This is the election of Sheikh Hasina, the election of the Liberation War,” he said.

Pointing to an independent candidate from the ruling party, he said: “Some people are asking for votes with random symbols.” He urged everyone to vote for Boat to bring Sheikh Hasina to power once again.

He said: “There is no such thing as personal likes and dislikes. This will be a sign of our love for Bangabandhu and for the popular leader Sheikh Hasina. There is only one symbol, and it is Boat.”

Mentioning that Sheikh Hasina should be made the country’s prime minister for the fifth time, he said that there is no other alternative but to bring her to power for the continuation of the country’s prosperity and development.
