Mathbaria (Pirojpur) Correspondent : In Pirojpur’s Mathbaria, Awami League leader and former Zila Parishad member Ilias Uddin Helal Munshi and associates have been accused of grabbing other people’s land by installing signboard with the names of Awami League and its affiliated organizations. Sources said, Napitkhali Mauza is located on the western side of Beribadh near Mirukhali Bazar in the upazila.In 1980, Anwar Hossain Ahsab , a UP member of Ward No. 6 of Daudkhali Union, became the owner of 5 and a half shatak of the land on sub-Kabala deed from Atul Chandra Halder, the record owner of 1194, 1195 of S.A. 104 Khatian. On the other hand, the land of Nikhil Chandra Hawladar, Ajit Chandra Hawladar, Dulal Hawladar, tea seller Bimal Hawladar was occupied 26% of the land illegally by the former district council member on June 2.A terrorist group of 12 people led by Ilias Uddin Helal Munshi, Shahidul Islam Sardar of Chalnabunia and businessman Zakir Hawladar built shops on the embankment at a broad daylight and installed the signboards of Awami League and its affiliated organizations. When the land owners reported the matter to Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Saikat Raihan, he immediately demolished the illegal structure. On June 4 again, they started building a house on that land. Former Upazila Jubo League President and Rural Electricity Association President Sakil Ahmed Nowroz said, I was the contractor for the canal dam construction in 2010. According to my knowledge, the owner of that land is UP member Anwar Hossain Ahsab and minority people Nikhil group . It is totally illegal and sad if some people are encroaching on someone’s enjoying land by using party signboards disputing the party.Nazrul Islam Mamun, the son of a UP member who owns the land, said over the phone on Monday afternoon, “My father has been threatened by Helal Munshi, Zakir Howladar and Sahidul Sardar. Awami League leader Elias Uddin Helal Munshi told the media that I am not involved in this occupation but I have stopped all activities of the occupants. As long as there are no valid documents from the district administration no action will be taken until it is given. But a circle is spreading unnecessary rumor against me. I strongly condemn it. In this regard, Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Saikat Raihan said that the shop building has been demolished. If anyone tries again, action will be taken against him.
