Inauguration of waste management program in Nstu

Noakhali Science and Technology University (Nstu) has inaugurated a waste management program. On Thursday (May 16) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Didar-ul-Alam inaugurated the program.

Earlier, the media workers of NSTU Journalists Association published news in various media about the mismanagement of garbage scattered around 101 acres of Noakhali University of Science and Technology and the health risk of students.

According to the concerned department sources, waste management activities will be conducted under the initiative of Sharan Environment Development Foundation. The foundation will collect the various dustbins and scattered garbage of the university 6 days a week and they will remove a maximum of 2000 kilograms of garbage from inside the university in a day.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Didar-ul-Alam said that proper waste management is very important in sustainable environmental development. Waste management program has been launched to ensure the cleanliness of the environment of Noakhali University of Science and Technology. Henceforth campus waste will be collected and disposed of in a timely manner through a management system. It is hoped that students, teachers, officials and employees will cooperate wholeheartedly in this program.
