Psychology department Students of Rajshahi University (RU) held a sit-in to demand the exemption of Dr. Najma Afroz and Dr. Mahbuba Kaniz Kaya from the Psychology Department in front of the Administration Building today.

Moreover, They raised 5-point demands to the Vice-Chancellor. The 5-point is that no student can be threatened by any teacher and result tampering cannot be done due to personal anger, factionalism or rivalry between teachers must be stopped, Dr. Najma Afroz and Dr. Mahbuba Kaniz Kaya must exemption. Enamul Haque must reinstated to academic work within two working days, after a proper investigation into the false allegations leveled against him. The cleaning worker Mr. Ram Hela must brought back to the department and all the teachers of the department must given a written notice that they will carry out all the activities of the department as per routine.

RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan NaqIb said,
It is not possible to achieve any demand by creating pressure chaotically. We are always ready to solve your problem. No problem will be solved by slogans like this. You can form a representative of 7/8 people with your demands. It is not possible to talk to everyone in this way. And it is not possible to solve this problem by Sunday. Among them, there are internal matters of the teachers of the department.

Professor Najma Afroz said, that since Dr. Enamul Haque has been punished, he is doing these things. He does not want me to come to the department. But I don’t know why this is happening or why the students are doing this. Everything is a complete conspiracy against me.
