RU Representative: The students of the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Rajshahi University staged a human chain and protest rally to demand the withdrawal of the policy decision of the“Bangladesh Animal Husbandry Council Act 2023” by the Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resources. Today, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the University’s Paris Road.

The second demands, In the interests of livestock development, the decision to introduce a course for entry level officers of the Animal Husbandry Department to resolve the conflict between veterinary and animal husbandry graduates of the Department of Animal Husbandry. Implementation of the call of the Government of Bangladesh to introduce integrated courses in various educational institutions.

After the protest, the students held a press conference in front of the Martyr Intellectual Square. It known, This movement is going on in all 14 universities of Bangladesh where veterinary and animal sciences are taught.

At this time, the students of the 2018-19 session Md. Zahid Hasan said, we are all aware that the Bangladesh Veterinary Act has been going on since 1982. The secretary of the Directorate of Fisheries and Livestock, as opposed to it. Nahid Rashid is trying to frame the Animal Husbandry Act-2023 during his departure. If it is framed it will disrupt the development of our animal resources.During this election period when Minister Mahadayo and others are busy with election work, he is trying to form this council by holding meetings by his hired brokers to prove his majority.

He also said that we, the veterinary society of Bangladesh, will not accept this council. We are students of 14 universities. Prani concluded his speech by warning the Department of Animal Resources to take to the streets.

Shah Newaz, a student of the 20-21 session, said that “the animal husbandry council wants to make a law at the behest of the secretary in the animal husbandry department. At the end of the secretary’s job, he wants to make a blue design. We have seen the role that Bangladesh Veterinary Association plays in the development of animal resources. The Secretary is taking this action to create a conflict in the Animal Resources Department.
