A Student League activist suspended for seat trading in RU

Student League activist, Al Amin Piyas of Rajshahi University (RU) has been temporarily expelled on the charge of seat trading.

This information was informed in a Press release by Rajshahi University Branch Student League President Mostafizur Rahman Babu and General Secretary Asadullah-Hil-Galib on Tuesday (January 30).

In terms of the notification, the recent incident at Shaheed Dr. Shamsujjoha Hall is anti-organizational, anti-discipline, criminal, and undermines the dignity of the organization. Bangladesh Student League, Rajshahi University worker Al-Amin Piyas was expelled from the organization due to his involvement in such activities.

Mustafizur Rahman Babu, President of the University Student League, said “You know that the Bangladesh Chhatra League is a reputable institution. I and my general secretary have taken a strong stand against seat trading at Rajshahi University since taking charge. In the incident that happened recently in Shaheed Dr. Shamsujjoha Hall, Al Ami tried to trade seats, although no financial transaction took place. As he tried to trade seats, he was temporarily expelled from Bangladesh Chhatra League, Rajshahi University on the recommendation of the inquiry committee. No other leader-activists were involved with Al Amin Piyas in the incident.

In Addition, on January 24, an audio recording of Al-Amin Piyas’s involvement in the seat trade was leaked. Evidence of seat trade and sharing of money has been raised in Piyas’ speech in the audio.
