Unknown Job seeker offers IU VC Tk 10 lakh via WhatsApp

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Shaikh Abdus Salam of Islamic University in Kushtia has been offered Tk 10 lakh “attempting to pay bribes in the name of having sweetmeats” for a job at his University.

“Sir, It’s really needed the job. Take tk 10 lakh for having sweetmeats. No one will know except us….,” the sender identified as Mithi, wrote to the VC’s personal WhatsApp number on Tuesday (March 26).

HM Ali Hasan, IU Acting register, has filed a complaint at the IU police station over the sensetional matter. Register stated, unknown person at first called over the phone but job seeker did not get response. Later, he sent messages vai Whatsapp at about 11 am.

According to the GD (No: 1021), Mithi sent a message from an anonymous mobile number to the personal number of the VC asking for a job in exchange for Tk 10 lakh.

While contacted, VC Professor Salam said that this was an act of a scheming group that was point of target to scandalize his image. In this matter, he claimed fair investigation.

Law enforcement will look into the matter, he added.
