Four students from Jagannath University have been nominated for the highest award of Bangladesh Rover Scouts, the “President’s Rover Scout Award (PRS).” They are Anwar Hossain from the 12th batch from Department of Public Administration, Alomgir Hossain from the 12th batch of the Department of Management, Sajeda Aktar Shathi from the 13th batch, and Md. Nezhar Uddin from the 12th batch from Department of Accounting.
On March 4th (Monday), a signed press release from K. M. Ashikuzzaman, Deputy Director (Program) of Bangladesh Scouts, informed about this development.
One of the students, Rover Anwar Hossain, said, “PRS is a long journey. It is never achieved alone. Only PRS examinees know how much guidance and advice is needed to achieve PRS. The esteemed faculty of the university, seniors, and the overall cooperation and my own hard work have led to this achievement. After Allah, I express my gratitude to all these people.”
Another student, Rover Md. Nezhar Uddin, mentioned, “I am extremely delighted and proud to be nominated for the President’s Rover Scout Award. This achievement will inspire me to contribute enthusiastically to the Scout movement, and to work for the country and human welfare in the days ahead. I express my gratitude to the creator, my family, the respected editor of Jagannath University Rover Scout Group, the leadership team, all senior PRS members, and other members for their sincere cooperation, for which I have been honored with this prestigious award.”
Until January 12-14, 2024, based on the evaluation of candidates at the National Scout Training Center in Mauchak, Gazipur, 10 Rover Scouts were finally selected for the President’s Rover Scout Award for the year 2022.
